7-Eleven Australia has launched a 10-store trial of the next generation Pay & Go technology to test new ways to give customers a faster way to shop.
7-Eleven Australia’s Pay & Go 2.0 trial, powered by Grabango, enables customers to pay for their shopping using the My 7-Eleven App or in-store kiosk without the need to scan individual items.
The technology uses computer vision to allow customers to pay for their shopping with a single tap of a debt or credit card or by using the My 7-Eleven app. The system automatically adds up the items, processes payment, and sends the receipt to the customer.
“The next generation of Pay & Go, which has been developed with our partner Grabango, is part of our commitment to trialing innovative digital capabilities to serve our customers and provide them with faster shopping experiences,” said Stephen Eyears, 7-Eleven Australia General Manager for Technology and Strategy.
“7-Eleven Australia is an innovative retailer and, like us, has a hyperfocus on delivering convenience to its customers,” said Grabango Founder and CEO Will Glaser.
7-Eleven Australia is locally operated, with approximately 750 stores across Victoria, NSW, ACT, QLD and Western Australia.
