Germany’s largest fuel retail network is one century old and plans to look into the future by expanding its ultra-fast charging network and its REWE To Go concept.

Aral, one of Germany's most traditional and well-known fuel retail brands, is turning one hundred.
100 years ago, in the spring of 1924, the Bochum-based company invented the world's first super fuel. The petrol-gasoline mixture was composed of aromatics and aliphatics - giving birth to its name.
Today, with around 2,400 filling stations, Aral is the largest fuel retail brand in Germany. The company has been a bp representative in Germany since 2002 and is currently also one of the largest providers of ultra-fast charging infrastructure under the Aral pulse brand.
“100 years ago we invented the world's first premium fuel, today we are inventing the filling station of tomorrow. We believe in the future of the filling station as a hub of mobility. Petrol stations have already changed and must continue to change,” said Achim Bothe, Chairman of the Management Board of Aral AG.
In celebration of this milestone, the chain is looking into the future to focus on e-mobility and foodservice.
Aral plans to continue expanding both its REWE To Go concept and its ultra-fast charging network, which currently comprises approximately 900 locations and 2,000 charging points.
