BMW introduces in-car fuel payments in Germany

The new feature is available immediately for vehicles equipped with operating system 8, 8.5, and 9.

Thousands of BMW drivers in Germany will now be able to pay for fuel and parking through in-car payment systems. The company has announced plans to expand its service to more brands and European countries.
In-car fuel payments are already possible at brands like Aral, Esso, HEM, Q1, Sprint, Team and Allguth, enabling drivers to pay for parking and fueling through one login. With an update in the following week, over 500,000 customers in Germany will be able to use the functionality.
The “Refueling Payments” service enables customers to find petrol stations in the area where in-car payments are possible by clicking on the “Search petrol station” tile.
Once parked at a site, the customer then only has to confirm the petrol station, select the fuel pump number and complete the process by selecting “Activate and pay now.”
BMW customers can also pay parking fees directly in the vehicle across 12 European countries.
In recent years, in-car payment systems have rapidly developed as part of the broader trend towards connected vehicles.
