EG Group to equip evpoint stations with Tesla's ultra-fast chargers

The company will roll out the equipment across its UK and Europe network, with the first ones set to be installed before the end of the year.

EG Group will roll out Tesla’s latest ultra-fast charging units across its growing evpoint business in the UK and Europe.
This hardware will operate on an open network basis, meaning that all drivers will be able to access the chargers regardless of the brand of vehicle they drive. In addition, the equipment will also support the Plug and Charge protocol, which simplifies and automates payments.
“Securing this best-in-class equipment from Tesla marks another milestone for evpoint and is hugely exciting for us. It is the first deal of its kind entered into by Tesla with a third-party charge point operator in Europe and will transform how our customers charge their vehicles and how they interact with EG,” said Zuber Issa, Founder and co-CEO of EG Group.
The chargers will be branded “evpoint” and will leverage Tesla’s innovative technology, with the first batch expected to be rolling out before the end of the year.
“Since installing our first EV charger back in 2012, we have continued to invest in the technology. This deal will accelerate the delivery of vital charging infrastructure for motorists to help power the transition to Net Zero,” added Issa.
evpoint is EG Group’s proprietary branded ultra-fast electric vehicle (EV) charging initiative. The company has installed EV chargers at over 20 trial sites across the UK and Europe and have earmarked a broader rollout across many hundreds of sites through to 2026.
