Grupo HAM has announced that three service stations across Spain (Monegros, Baix Ebre, and Gironès Nord) will exclusively supply Bio-LNG and Bio-CNG starting December 9. This marks a major step in the company’s plan to replace fossil natural gas with renewable biomethane across its entire network by 2026.

The transition will impact more than 50 fueling points located along key transport routes in Spain and Europe, reinforcing Grupo HAM’s role in sustainable mobility and circular economy initiatives. The biomethane supplied will be primarily sourced from local production facilities, including waste treatment plants in Catalonia and Aragón and manure-processing plants in Girona, with additional sites under construction for 2026.

Biomethane is produced through controlled anaerobic digestion of organic waste, reducing emissions and promoting efficient use of local resources. According to Grupo HAM, the switch allows logistics companies and transport fleets to cut CO₂ emissions without modifying vehicles or infrastructure, using the same LNG and CNG technology but with a 100% renewable fuel.

The company’s strategy aligns with its broader sustainability goals: decarbonizing road transport, revalorizing organic waste, and advancing proprietary technology for renewable gas liquefaction, storage, and distribution.
