HEM service stations are expanding their electric vehicle (EV) charging services to provide a wider reach and faster capabilities.

To achieve this goal, the German retailer is partnering with SMATRICS, an Austrian full-service provider that is responsible for all services, from planning and construction to operation and billing. The plan is to install fast-charging points with up to up to 400 kW, with the first locations to be established soon and more already in preparation.

“For us, high-power chargers are a fixed component in the drive mix of the future at HEM filling stations. With SMATRICS as an experienced partner, we receive all services of the highest quality from a single source,” says Carsten Pohl, Managing Director of Deutsche Tamoil GmbH, parent company of HEM.

New charging sites were rolled out at quickly and conveniently easily accessible locations with extensive service offerings, such as a bistro area, sanitary facilities or car washes. In addition, the construction of fast-charging infrastructure is also planned for sites outside filling stations.
