Published on: Jan 20, 2025

The company aims to establish a service station network in the country in collaboration with Uzbekneftegaz to introduce new technologies to meet international standards.

Five Petroleum, a leading Malaysian fuel retailer, is planning to establish a network of gas stations in Uzbekistan, as reported by the press service of Uzbekneftegaz.

The initiative aims to introduce modern technologies and international standards to enhance product quality and service within the country’s fuel sector. Bakhodirjon Sidikov, Chairman of Uzbekneftegaz, met with the CEO of Five Petroleum to discuss the details of the venture.

The talks also addressed the development of transport and logistics infrastructure across various regions in Uzbekistan, which will support the roll out of the gas station network.

This collaboration aims not only to expand gas station infrastructure but also to introduce new solutions to meet international standards. Both parties are focused on contributing to the growth of Uzbekistan’s energy market by implementing new technologies and practices.

In July 2024, Uzbekistan's Ambassador to Malaysia and King Lim Chin Fui, CEO and founder of Five Petroleum, explored investment opportunities in Uzbekistan, particularly in the Samarkand region. They also discussed further collaborative projects.

Founded in 2020, Five Petroleum currently operates over 110 petrol stations in Malaysia and holds a 60% majority stake in BHPetrol, which runs more than 400 stations nationwide. The planned expansion into Uzbekistan represents a major milestone in the company’s regional growth strategy.
