MAPCO Express network sale to two buyers goes through

Alimentation Couche-Tard and Majors Management have acquired the 304 locations in two separate deals.

Alimentation Couche-Tard and Majors Management have completed the acquisition of the MAPCO Express network in the U.S. from from Compañía de Petróleos de Chile S.A. (COPEC).

The transaction from Couche-Tard transaction includes 112 company-operated fuel and convenience retail sites as well as surplus property and a logistics fleet.

"As we continue to grow our presence across the Southern U.S., we are excited to bring the Circle K experience to new customers in Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama and Kentucky,” said Alex Miller, Couche-Tard's Chief Operating Officer.

Majors Management will add 192 MAPCO-branded convenience stores in six states in addition to the wholesale fuel division, loyalty program, brand and other intellectual property.

MAPCO, based in Franklin, Tennessee, had a total of 304 locations in Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas, Kentucky and Mississippi. It was a subsidiary of Santiago, Chile-based COPEC, which acquired it in 2016.
