OXXO announced the acquisition of 15 electric vehicles (EVs) to integrate into its utility fleet in Mexico, which will operate in the city of Santa Catarina, Nuevo León.
This initiative is part of the company's strategy to reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainable mobility in its operations. The new BYD Dolphin Mini EVs, acquired through the distributor GRUPO TEC, will be assigned to 15 employees of the brand.
They will be responsible for store supervision, marking an important step towards the electrification of the company's fleet.
"At OXXO we are committed to meaningful actions that benefit the environment. The addition of electric vehicles to our fleet is a significant step towards reducing our carbon emissions and towards a more sustainable future," said Blanca Martinez, Director of Operations at OXXO Zona Norte.
This strategy not only aims to minimize environmental impact but also to optimize the use of cleaner and more efficient energies throughout the supply chain.
In addition to this acquisition, within OXXO's Supply Chain, more tests are underway with new electric trucks, which will serve the San Martín Obispo Distribution Center in Mexico City. Moreover, charging stations have been installed as part of the medium and long-term plans to continue advancing the electrification of the fleet, offering a sustainable and efficient solution for goods transportation.
