Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) has announced its first brand licensing initiative, partnering with SIM Distribuidora to launch three pilot fuel retail stations in Brazil. These Petronas-branded stations, strategically located in major urban areas, will offer customers convenient access to Petronas' advanced fuel solutions and services

"Brazil's extensive vehicle fleet presents a significant opportunity to reach a broader customer base in Latin America," stated Ahmad Adly Alias, Petronas' VP of Refining, Trading, and Marketing.

This initiative marks Petronas' first venture into brand licensing for retail segments in global markets. Through this model, Petronas licenses its brand and fuel formulations to established independent retailers, capitalizing on their operational expertise. SIM, a distributor of Petronas lubricants since 2022, operates a network of 540 retail stations across three states in southern Brazil.

Neco Argenta, President of Argenta Group, SIM's holding company, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. "We are proud to launch these first three stations and develop this strategic partnership with Petronas in Brazil. We believe this will provide an excellent new option for our consumers and dealers."

This partnership aims to deliver innovative and high-quality fuel solutions to Brazilian consumers, bolstering Petronas' presence in the Latin American market.
