Primax is preparing to inaugurate its 1,000th service station in Colombia, marking a significant milestone in the company’s strategic expansion plan that began in 2018. The announcement, made by Juan José Martínez, president of Primax Colombia, in an interview with La Republica, confirms that the landmark station will be located in Medellín.

Since its arrival in Colombia, Primax has steadily built out its network to serve major cities and transportation corridors. While the company does not yet operate in every municipality, its targeted growth strategy has enabled it to cover areas essential for national connectivity and development.

Martínez emphasized that the company’s top priority in 2024 is to provide Colombians with differentiated fuels that help reduce emissions from the country’s more than 19 million vehicles. This focus on cleaner fuels is part of a broader push toward sustainable mobility and technological modernization.

Fuel retail remains the company’s most important business line, accounting for roughly 80% of the total volume sold. In 2024 alone, Primax distributed over 822 million gallons through its retail network.

With an estimated 22% share of the national fuel station market, Primax is now the second-largest operator in the country. The milestone coincides with Primax’s ongoing transition under new ownership following Saudi Aramco’s $3.5 billion acquisition of the company’s operations in Colombia, Peru, and Ecuador.
