Shell and Q-Park have partnered to develop a mobility hub in The Hague (The Netherlands) – parking, fast charging, picking up an e-bike or scooter, and having a fresh coffee to go.
The existing Q-Park location in Amsterdamse Veerkade was a traditional parking garage with fast chargers. It has now added a Shell Café, a dry cleaning and laundry service, a meeting room, workplaces, and shared mobility.
"With the Mobility Hub The Hague Centre, Shell wants to make it even easier for residents and visitors of The Hague to visit the city centre or to be at an appointment on time. Fast-charge your car, have a sandwich or hot beverage to go, while your shirts are dry-cleaned. All in one place," says Jeanine Bakx, Shell's General Manager Mobility for the Benelux and France.
"We have been working with Shell for more than ten years, to facilitate charging infrastructure. And we are still expanding. The demand for EV chargers is increasing and we are happy to provide new options like fast charging. With the addition of shared mobility services, customers can travel effortlessly from A to B and get to their destination, easily and efficiently,” Michiel Tenge, Managing Director at Q-Park Netherlands.
This is the first of several planned hubs in major cities that Shell and Q-Park are opening together.
In 2012, Shell and Q-Park introduced the very first electric vehicle charging point in a car park in the Netherlands. Ten years later there were almost 1,000 EV charging points installed.
