Colombia’s Organización Terpel S.A. has signed a fuel supply agreement with state‑owned energy company Ecopetrol S.A. with an estimated value exceeding $2.6 billion (COP 10.4 trillion), reinforcing fuel availability across the country.

The contract is designed to ensure the supply of liquid fuels at a time when stability in the fuel distribution system remains critical for the broader economy. The agreement will run for 11 months, starting on April 1, 2026, and ending on February 28, 2027, as reported by Infobae.

The total contract value amounts to $2.6 billion, with payments structured under a credit arrangement that aligns cash flows with the progressive execution of deliveries.

Under the agreement, Ecopetrol will supply Terpel with a broad portfolio of products, including diesel (ACPM) and diesel blends, marine diesel with biodiesel content from domestic or imported sources, regular and premium gasoline, carbon‑offset premium gasoline, as well as other gasoline references blended with biofuels. The mix reflects current market conditions that combine conventional fuels with lower‑emission alternatives.

The scale of the agreement highlights the importance of robust fuel supply frameworks to support key sectors such as transportation, industry and logistics, contributing to overall fuel market stability in Colombia.

Headquartered in Bogotá, Terpel is Colombia’s largest fuel retailer by market share and also operates in Ecuador, Panama, Peru, and the Dominican Republic.
