OPIS showcased a data-driven vision for the future of the fuel and convenience industry at NACS Show 2025, empowering retailers to make smarter, faster decisions.

As data continues to redefine how the fuel and convenience industry operates, its importance took center stage at the NACS Show 2025. OPIS, A Dow Jones Company, stood out at the event for its data-driven approach to innovation, as the company showcased how its expanding data portfolio is empowering retailers, suppliers, and partners to make faster, smarter, and more informed decisions in an increasingly complex market.
Brandon Gormley, Executive Director of Retail Software Sales at OPIS, began by discussing the company’s long-standing collaboration with midstream and downstream partners, emphasizing its focus on providing the tools and insights they need to make faster, data-driven decisions. He also spoke about the recent acquisitions of A2i and Eco-Movement, explaining how these additions strengthen OPIS’s data portfolio at a time when industry consolidation and margin pressures are shaping new competitive dynamics.
"Retailers are looking for data to defend, set and create additional competitive advantages that they still need to retain in this day and age,” explained Gormley. “The amount of data that the neural networks can ingest to make better, faster and smarter decisions and ultimately give that back to our customers so that they can add more value to their businesses.”
Frodi Hammer, VP and Founder of A2i by OPIS, A Dow Jones Company, reflected on joining the OPIS family and on how the fuel and convenience industry is emerging from a clean slate after the pandemic, ready to embrace innovation.
“In 2025 it doesn’t make sense to look at 2019, and you have all of these macro events going on that are so hard to navigate,” Hammer noted. “But understanding what the data is showing you, that is what we are helping them with.”
Finally, Tanya Lee, Director of Rack Product Management at OPIS, highlighted the development of the company’s RackPro pricing solution together with its Axxis platform, noting how both reflect a crucial aspect of today’s business landscape: turning data into actionable insight.
"With declining volumes in the industry at large, we are seeing more supplier integration and more personalized pricing, which OPIS’s bottomline report addresses as opposed to the transparent posted wholesale prices by suppliers,” describes Lee.
OPIS, A Dow Jones Company’s presence at the NACS Show 2025 highlighted its commitment to helping retailers and suppliers make smarter decisions in an evolving market, reaffirming that data is a true ally for progress in the fuel and convenience industry.
