Two award wins for SPAR UK at The Convenience Retail Awards 2024

The 19 winners of the Convenience Awards 2024 were revealed in Manchester.
The Convenience Retail Awards 2024 celebrated the entire convenience industry and the people who work in it in Manchester on 21 March 2024.
Two SPAR UK stores took home awards on the night, with SPAR Oxford Road in Greater Manchester winning Independent Convenience Store of the Year, and SPAR Malone Road, Co. Antrim winning Multiple Managed Convenience Store of the Year.

Their success is not only a recognition of their hard work, but also a testament to their unwavering dedication to staying at the forefront of the industry,” said Aidan Fortune, Editor of Convenience Store.
The SPAR Oxford road store, located in Greater Manchester, England, took home the Independent Convenience Store of the Year award.
The store underwent a refit in 2023, to improve its refrigeration, lighting and air conditioning while also introduce more shelf space to enhance its snacking and soft drinks offering. These changes helped contribute to an 18% uplift in sales while reducing electricity consumption by 28%.
A store unlike any other in the country, Shaan Chaudry of triple ‘a’ Foodhall in Nuneaton has been named Convenience Retailer of the Year. Designed as a hub for the community, the store has quickly become a destination store for people in surrounding towns looking for something different, either within grocery or food to go.
