Westfalen expands Bio-CNG reach with new station

The mobility company has partnered with REMONDIS to inaugurate the new location to cater to both trucks and cars with the sustainable fuel produced from waste and residual materials.

The Westfalen Group is continuing to push forward with climate protection alongside recycling company REMONDIS by inaugurating a new Bio-CNG filling station in Coesfeld .
Both companies have allied to use biogas as an alternative fuel to make waste logistics in inner-city transport more environmentally friendly. At the public station, all commercially available trucks and cars can fill up around the clock with the non-fossil biogas produced from waste and residual materials.
As part of the switch from diesel to low-CO2 biogas, REMONDIS will be increasingly using biogas-powered waste collection vehicles in the region.
"Bio-CNG is an alternative fuel with which ecological and economic objectives can be very well reconciled. Due to local production, the effects of geopolitical price fluctuations, as we have often experienced in the past, are also not as significant, so that corresponding vehicles can be used economically in a plannable manner," explains Andre Stracke, Head of Mobility at Westfalen.
In order to make its sustainability efforts more visible to the outside world, the Westfalen Group has modernized its brand identity this year - which is also reflected in the newly built service station.
