Drivers gain app-based access to major networks and Tesla Superchargers nationwide.

BMW Group Canada has rolled out new enhancements aimed at simplifying public charging for BMW and MINI electric vehicle (EV) drivers, combining Shell Recharge integration with expanded access to Tesla Superchargers using the North American Charging Standard (NACS).
Shell Recharge is now embedded in the My BMW and MINI apps across Canada, allowing drivers to find, start, stop, and pay for charging sessions from a single account. The integration brings together multiple Canadian charge point operators, including Shell Recharge, FLO, ChargePoint, Circuit électrique, BC Hydro, and EV Connect Canada, with compatible Tesla Superchargers now included. Cross-border access in the United States is also supported.
Alongside the Shell Recharge launch, BMW Canada confirmed broader access to the Tesla Supercharger network via NACS. Beginning in 2026, new BMW models in Canada, including upcoming EVs such as the iX3 and i3, will feature factory-installed NACS ports. Existing BMW and MINI battery-electric vehicles equipped with CCS ports will require the approved Lectron Vortex Plus NACS-to-CCS DC adapter.
The updates reflect a broader push by BMW Canada to streamline EV ownership by reducing app fragmentation and expanding access to fast-charging infrastructure nationwide.
