Maxol Hilden has reopened its doors following a £1.6 million redevelopment, enhancing both the convenience store and forecourt on Belfast Road in Lisburn.
Customers can now experience ‘Bags More’ quality, choice, and value in the modernized and expanded store, which features the latest SPAR design. The upgraded layout offers a wider selection of chilled, frozen, and fresh local produce, making it an ideal stop for a quick top-up shop, reports Business Eye.
For those on the move, the store now includes a Delish on the Go counter, serving a range of freshly prepared food, including hot meals, sandwiches, and wraps throughout the day. A Barista Bar—Northern Ireland’s largest coffee brand—has also been introduced, providing high-quality coffee and hot drinks to go.
The redevelopment involved demolishing old buildings at the rear of the site to create a more spacious layout. Customer parking has significantly increased from seven to twenty-two spaces, including two accessible bays for greater convenience, even during peak hours. The forecourt now features two pump islands offering a full range of advanced fuels with pay-at-pump facilities under a brand-new canopy. Additionally, a newly equipped car wash, along with air, water, and vacuum services, completes the upgraded forecourt facilities.
Sustainability has been a key focus of the redevelopment. Maxol has implemented a range of energy-efficient solutions, including LED lighting, a low-energy CO₂ refrigeration system with glazed doors, and an advanced air conditioning system designed to optimize energy usage.
This project is part of The Maxol Group’s £145 million investment strategy for 2023-2027, which was announced by CEO Brian Donaldson last year. The initiative underscores the company’s commitment to modernizing its network while prioritizing customer convenience and sustainability.
