McDonald’s has announced a new collaboration with Certas Energy Norway AS, the owner of the Esso chain in Norway, to establish restaurants at select Esso service stations. Over the next few years, the partnership will result in the opening of McDonald’s restaurants at a minimum of seven locations along Norway’s road network.

The initiative aligns with McDonald’s growth ambitions in the country, as confirmed by Ann Helen Våge, Managing Director of McDonald’s Norway.

“We aim to grow and enhance our accessibility across Norway. Roadside locations are highly attractive to our guests, and this collaboration allows us to offer both local customers and travelers a convenient stop where they can enjoy a meal and charge their vehicles at the same location,” Våge explained.

McDonald’s, one of Norway’s largest employers of young people, reports that 70% of its employees in the country are under 24 years old.

“This collaboration with Esso will further contribute to that growth. At McDonald’s, we are passionate about giving young people opportunities, prioritizing motivation over prior work experience. We are proud to be an attractive employer and a stepping stone for many young people starting their careers in Norway,” Våge added.

This partnership is expected to enhance convenience for travelers while boosting employment opportunities for youth.
