Q8 and Storm have teamed up with McDonald’s to open the first of the chain’s fast-charging stations in Belgium.

This partnership marks a significant step in meeting the rising demand for electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, catering to both the needs of EV drivers and McDonald's customers. Located at the Q8 gas station in Heusden-Zolder, the new restaurant offers 12 fast-charging spaces.

This project is the first of its kind in Belgium, showcasing how the fast-food giant, in collaboration with the mobility companies, is taking part in the country's green transition.

"This collaboration between McDonald’s, Q8, and Storm is a great example of how we can innovate to meet the growing demand for electric vehicle charging. We are proud to contribute to the sustainable future of mobility and offer a practical solution for EV drivers," said Marc Decuyper, CEO of Q8 Belgium.

As part of this collaboration, Q8 and Storm are planning to expand their network over the next five years, aiming to create 200 new charging stations equipped with restaurants and shops.

This development aligns with Belgium's goal of creating a more sustainable future by offering more accessible charging stations for EV users.
