Consumers place the company at the top of the Sustainable Brand Index for the second year.

OKQ8 has been ranked Sweden’s most sustainable fuel brand in the 2026 edition of the Sustainable Brand Index, Europe’s largest independent sustainability study. Swedish consumers placed the company first in the fuel category for the second consecutive year.
“It is encouraging that Swedish consumers once again view OKQ8 as the industry leader in sustainability. For us, it shows that our efforts to transform mobility are visible, both in our offer and in how we meet customers,” said Karin Eriksson, CEO of OKQ8.
OKQ8 has expanded its role in the transition of the transport sector, investing in a nationwide fast‑charging network for electric vehicles in partnership with Skellefteå Kraft, while also offering a wide selection of biofuels. It was also the first fuel company in Sweden to introduce hydrogen as a transportation fuel.
Through strategic partnerships, long‑term investment and a clear focus on innovation, OKQ8 aims to accelerate the shift toward solutions that meet both current and future mobility needs. Alongside charging and renewable fuels, the company offers car sharing, car wash services and tools that help consumers and businesses choose more sustainable mobility options.
The ranking underscores what the company describes as long‑term leadership. Sustainable Brand Index, founded in 2011, surveys consumer perceptions of sustainability work across more than 1,600 brands in 36 industries and over 80,000 interviews.
