This was an incredibly successful project with great results for the Pertamina site. The site can say with confidence they have great fuel stock accuracy thanks to the ProGauge 3D Laser Scan Automatic Tank Calibration service and MagLink LX 4 ATG console. It was also the fastest installation we have ever completed on a project of this scale due to the installation not requiring extensive underground works such as cabling and ducting (Gunawan Widjaja, Technical Sales Engineer, PT Panji Perkasa).
The Pertamina gas station did not have accurate fuel stocks when valued partner, PT Panji Perkasa visited the site. After initial discussions and an explanation on the benefits of accurate fuel stocks to increase operational efficiencies, Pertamina agreed to the ProGauge 3D Laser Scan Automatic Tank Calibration service and MagLink LX 4 ATG console installation.
As Pertamina did not have any underground cabling or ducting from the fuel tanks to the office, and the option to install the ducting was not in scope, due to disruption to both the site and customers, the decision was made to use ProGauge™ Wireless probes. These probes were used as they do not require any underground digging and can facilitate cable installation with minimum disruption. The installation was completed in record time with minimal disruption to both the site and more importantly the customer.
The first part of the project was completed using the 3D Laser Scan Calibration solution, while waiting for the table charts, the PT Panji Team conducted additional preparations, such as calculation and measurement of the tanks, probe risers, and arranging the position for the ProGauge™ RF Receiver and the Maglink LX 4 console.
After only two days of installation works, one of which was used solely for testing, the Pertamina site was up and running with a new MagLink LX ATG system enabling greater operational efficiencies and accurate fuel stock information. This installation timeline was much faster than PT Panji Perkasa expected due to the RF probe, when compared to normal cable installation from other products.
