Carrefour Romania opened 22 new Express in 2023

Carrefour Romania's proximity network will reach 162 stores nationwide in 2023, out of a total of around 450 multi-format stores.
Carrefour Romania reaches 162 Express units nationwide in 2023 by opening 22 new stores in 9 cities. The entire proximity network is served by 131 integrated stores and 31 franchise stores.
The expansion of the Express format is a strategic objective for Carrefour, aligned with the company's omnichannel vision of being close to customers. Regardless of where they operate, customers benefit from increased convenience, thanks to the accessibility and reduced time spent shopping that is specific to convenience stores.
With a modern design, the stores occupy between 110 and 350 sqm of retail space. With the opening of the new Express stores, Carrefour is generating 176 jobs locally.

Carrefour Express stores are the French retailer's way of serving customers with a wide range of more than 4,500 products close to home, in office centres or crowded areas.
