Casey’s General Stores has stated that it expects to establish “at least” 150 stores by the end of fiscal year 2024. The retailer announced this goal through its recently published first-quarter earnings report.

This projection is an important step for the company in its three-year expansion plans, as it aims to open 350 new stores across the US by 2026. A big portion of these new locations have been achieved via acquisitions, as Casey’s has recently purchased a portfolio of sites previously owned by EG America.

The chain bought a total of 89 convenience stores from EG’s subsidiary so far, located in Missouri, Kentucky and Tennessee. The first batch were a total of 26 Minit Mart locations, with the second group of 63 stores acquired by the brand last month operating under several banners, a deal that is expected to close by the end of this year.

Currently, the company operates over 2,500 stores in 16 states. Other key objectives of its three–year plan include accelerating its food business, enhancing operational efficiency through new digital and data-driven tools, building a community-first culture, and growing financial strength.
