Cepsa began the supply of 100% renewable diesel (HVO) to professional customers, both at its service stations and directly at several of its clients' facilities. The company's goal is to offer sustainable solutions adapted to the needs of its customers.

The energy company is already marketing this second-generation biofuel to professional customers (carriers, fleets, etc.) at a service station in Madrid. Before the end of the year, it will be available at three other strategic locations.

By 2024, the company's goal is to supply renewable diesel to 20 stations in its network, located in the country's main corridors and logistics hubs.

"At Cepsa we continue our commitment to sustainable mobility and want to move into the future by making a tangible impact from the present. Therefore, we are going to supply HVO at strategic locations for our professional customers, whom we want to help advance in the decarbonization of their activity by offering them this high quality biofuel," said Cedric Vigneau, Director of Fleets & CRT at  Cepsa.

Cepsa produces this second-generation biofuel at its La Rábida Energy Park (Huelva) from organic waste, such as used cooking oils or agricultural waste, thus promoting the circular economy.

In addition, with the aim of guaranteeing supply to its customers in land, sea and air transport, the company is going to develop, together with Bio-Oils, the largest second-generation biofuel plant in southern Europe, through an investment of up to 1 billion euros. This facility, to be commissioned in 2026 in Palos de la Frontera (Huelva), will have a flexible production capacity of 500,000 tons of renewable diesel and SAF.
