Certas Energy is supporting UK-based Grob Group’s fleet of delivery vehicles transitioning to Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO, marking a significant step in the company’s sustainability strategy.

The transition to 100% HVO, which includes a fleet of ten delivery vehicles, reflects Grob Group’s determination to reduce its carbon footprint and meet its environmental targets. The company expects to save approximately 78 tonnes of carbon emissions in 2024 alone by switching from fossil diesel to HVO.

“This transition fuel will continue to play a central role in helping decarbonize road transport and other industries in the short and medium term,” said Darren Holloway, Commercial Director for Energy Solutions at Certas Energy.

The decision follows a successful implementation of HVO in Grob Group's Fire Protection vehicles in December 2023 and was further supported by an investment in HVO from LeFactory, a Grob Group subsidiary, in November 2024. The company is now among the first in the HVAC industry to be entirely fueled by HVO.

As part of its broader sustainability efforts, Grob Group has also become the first in the UK to offer “green” steel to its clients.
