Circle K has opened its first dedicated electric vehicle (EV) charging hubs at its Clonshaugh and City Avenue locations in Dublin, as part of its strategy to develop Ireland’s largest high-powered charging network.

The Clonshaugh site includes five super-fast chargers and ten bays, while City Avenue features four super-fast chargers and eight bays. Each unit is capable of delivering up to 400 kW, placing them among the fastest publicly available chargers in the country.

“These first dedicated Electric Vehicle Hubs make the transition to electric vehicles even more practical and convenient,” said Darragh O’Brien, Minister for Transport and Minister for Climate, Energy and the Environment, who joined Circle K Ireland Managing Director Ciara Foxton for the launch. “Achieving our climate action plan targets will only be possible if drivers know they can charge conveniently and reliably.”

The new hubs build on Circle K’s €15 million investment in EV infrastructure in recent years. The retailer now provides charging at 41 locations across its Irish network, offering a total of 134 charge points, and plans further expansion as EV adoption rises.

The retailer’s hubs are designed not only for high-speed charging but also to enhance the customer experience, with access to food, coffee, seating areas, Wi-Fi and rest facilities while drivers wait.

Circle K says the rollout aligns with its global EV charging strategy, which has seen the company deploy more than 2,900 chargers across Europe.
