Circle K Ireland announced an agreement to acquire a total of nine forecourt and convenience locations from convenience retail group, Pelco.

Seven of these sites are located in Dublin with the remaining two can be found in Meath and Westmeath counties. A total of 142 staff currently employed at these sites will become employees of Circle K and will continue working at the nine locations.

This takeover will bring the chain’s total number of employees in Ireland to 2,574 and increase the number of owned and operated stores from 168 to 177. Alongside its dealer partner network of 242 locations, the total number of the brand’s locations in Ireland now stands at 419.

“Every week, we welcome approximately 1.5 million customers to our stores, and this will now enable us to serve the needs of even more customers in Ireland, providing them with the quality products and services they come to expect when they visit Circle K,” said Ciara Foxton, Managing Director at Circle K Ireland.

The acquisition is still subject to approval from the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC). When approved, the rebrand and integration of the nine stores will take place over the coming months.

Existing offerings at these locations such as deli, car wash and other facilities are now set to be integrated into the overall Circle K product and service offering.
