DRB has announced the launch of its AI-enhanced License Plate Recognition (AI-LPR) system, an upgrade to its previous LPR technology.

AI-LPR aims to set a new standard in operational efficiency, accuracy and customer satisfaction at car washes. The new solution integrates artificial intelligence firmware into the firm’s LPR cameras, offering enhanced accuracy and efficiency in reading license plates.

“Our AI engine adapts to the varying conditions faced by car washes—from different levels of vehicle dirtiness to changing weather and lighting. This adaptability significantly enhances accuracy and efficiency for operators while ensuring a superior experience for their customers,” said Patrick Mulcahy, DRB VP of Engineering.

This development is set to reduce the number of unreadable plates significantly to keep traffic moving and allow operators to process more vehicles without delays.

The AI-LPR is also capable of learning and adapting to new license plate designs, improving read rates for unique or updated plate styles and reducing manual intervention.
