Moeve and easyJet have signed a deal to advance the decarbonisation of air transport through the promotion of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). This six-year agreement, effective from 2025 to 2030, grants easyJet access to SAF across its Spanish route network, aligning with both companies' commitment to reducing the carbon footprint of air travel.

Moeve, a leading SAF producer, manufactures the fuel at its La Rábida Energy Park in Huelva, utilizing second-generation biofuels derived from used cooking oils. These biofuels can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by up to 90% over their lifecycle compared to conventional kerosene.

“At Moeve, we champion solutions that drive decarbonisation in aviation. SAF is an immediate pathway to more sustainable air travel, and we are committed to supplying it consistently to major airports across the Iberian Peninsula and Canary Islands. This milestone with easyJet, a leading airline in Spain, underscores the importance of collaboration on our shared decarbonisation journey,” said Álvaro Macarro, Moeve’s Director of Sustainable Aviation.

To further ensure a steady SAF supply, Moeve is constructing a new plant with its partners, set to open in 2026. The facility will boast a flexible production capacity of 0.5 million metric tons of SAF and renewable diesel, forming part of the largest second-generation biofuels complex in Southern Europe.
