The site has extended the company’s fast-charging network up to over 140 sites in the country and features photovoltaic panels to power up 32 charging points.

EnBW has opened a new fast-charging station with a solar canopy, located north of Hannover, in Germany.
With this new addition to the company’s charging network, drivers can access 32 high-power charging (HPC) points as one of the largest fast-charging stations in the country and the firm’s second-largest. The equipment offers up to 300 kilowatts of charging capabilities, adding approximately 400 kilometers of range in a 20-minute stop.
Like all of its charging locations, the new EnBW location offers 100% green electricity, generated in part by the solar panels installed on the canopy. This is also the first location of the brand to feature service islands with free vacuum cleaner, Kärcher floor mat cleaner and tire pressure tester.
“We are creating practical benefits for electromobility that go beyond just charging. While charging, drivers can not only check their tire pressure for free, but also use a vacuum cleaner and a Kärcher floor mat cleaner. This allows us to offer them added value right there at the charging station,” said Volker Rimpler, Vice President of Construction & Rollout E-Mobility at EnBW.
For more than two years, EnBW has been operating and expanding one of Germany’s largest fast-charging networks with over 900 locations and more than 3,400 fast-charging stations. By 2030, it will increase the number of public fast-charging stations almost tenfold to 30,000 throughout the country.
