EnBW, REWE to collaborate on 1,000 charging locations by 2030

The companies have expanded their current partnership to promote e-mobility services across parking spaces at REWE and PENNY stores in Germany.

EnBW and the REWE Group are expanding their partnership launched in 2021 to deploy public fast-charging stations across retail locations in Germany.
By 2030, the charging operator will establish fast-charging infrastructure at up to 1,000 REWE Group stores. This corresponds to around one in six REWE and PENNY locations nationwide. EnBW equips REWE and PENNY stores with fast-charging points capable of up to 400 kilowatts of power.
“We are working across all sectors on simple charging solutions for customers throughout the country and thus on reducing CO2 emissions in the transport sector. Together, we are making it possible for everyone in Germany to charge their EV in everyday life,” said Dirk Güsewell, responsible for e-mobility on the EnBW Board of Management.
Since the first joint fast-charging points went into operation in October 2022, the partners have already opened around 300 more locations, with 200 more currently under construction.
The expansion of the partnership also contributes to EnBW's expansion targets, as it wants to operate over 20,000 fast-charging points across Germany by 2030.
