Family Express has integrated artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for security and surveillance at several stores across its Indiana retail network. The company has tapped security firm Action-CS and OnView Integrated Solutions to deploy an active deterrent system as well as a remote video monitoring service.

The news comes via a LinkedIn post by the tech company, which celebrated the integration of its systems throughout the brand’s locations. Both systems offer remote monitoring capabilities that can broadcast automated warnings or let retailers themselves warn potential perpetrators in case of suspicious activity.

According to Action-CS’s website, its deterrent system activity triggers lights and either automated or manual warnings if suspicious activity is detected. The solution can be placed inside and outside the site and can be mounted to ceilings or poles as well as bracket-mounted onto internet protocol security cameras.

With regards to OnView Integrated Solutions, the solution includes an automated voice that can be broadcasted throughout the store to announce that OnView’s dispatch team has been alerted and has notified a security team.

Based in Valparaiso, Indiana, and founded in 1975, Family Express operates a total of 81 locations across Northwest and North Central Indiana.
