FEMSA has announced the retirement of Carlos Arenas Cadena, current Managing Director of the OXXO Mexico Division, after a 40-year career with the company.

In succession, the firm has invited Carlos Arroyo Rico to join as the new Managing Director starting November 19. Arroyo will report directly to José Antonio Fernández Garza, Managing Director of FEMSA. Following his onboarding, both executives will initiate a transition plan that will conclude on March 31, 2025.

“I am very pleased to welcome Carlos Arroyo. Knowing his background and, above all, his leadership style, which aligns with our culture, I am confident that his integration into our company will be seamless and that he will enhance OXXO Mexico's value generation,” stated José Antonio Fernández Carbajal, Executive Chairman of the Board and General Director of FEMSA.

Carlos Arroyo brings over 25 years of leadership experience in retail operations and Quick Service Restaurants (QSRs) in Mexico and Central America, having worked with Walmart and The Coca-Cola Company. His most recent role was as General Director of Grupo Diagnóstico Proa.
