Galp, Powerdot join forces to establish 155 EV chargers across Spain

The equipment will offer public charging services and will be established across 33 locations in an effort to reduce range anxiety for e-mobility drivers.

Galp has partnered with Powerdot, operator of charging destinations for electric vehicles (EV), to establish new ultra-rapid chargers across Spanish highways.
A total of 155 public chargers will be installed across 33 different locations. The equipment will be distributed in the autonomous communities of Madrid, Castilla La Mancha, Principado de Asturias, La Rioja, Aragón, Galicia, Comunidad Valenciana, Cataluña and Andalucía.
This partnership aims to put an end to range anxiety, one of the biggest challenges for EV adoption in Spain. As a result, all EV drivers will be able to travel with full autonomy using Powerdot chargers on the peninsula.
"Galp has a plan to install 10,000 electric charging points on the Iberian Peninsula by 2025, anticipating market trends, the needs of electric vehicle users and setting the pace for our decarbonization goals," said Ignacio de Prada, Head of Electric Mobility at Galp in Spain.
Powerdot and Galp chargers have an output of up to 200 kW/hour per charger. This infrastructure allows charging power balancing, according to the number of users charging simultaneously. These facilities are compatible with 100% of EVs and allow the charging of two cars at the same time and the recharging of a battery from 0% to 80% in 15 minutes.
