The new EV charging site concept has been possible thanks to a partnership with the horticulture retail brand Dobbies which will see more locations being opened in the near future.

Gridserve has opened its first Electric Retail Hub in the UK, located at Dobbies Garden Centre in Swindon.
The company describes this location as a new type of charging destination to complement its current motorway-based Electric Super Hubs and their Electric Forecourts. Customers can charge their electric vehicles (EVs) while selecting their terracotta pots or patio furniture at the horticulture retail brand shop.
The Dobbies Swindon location can charge 12 cars at once with five medium power chargers, each capable of powering two cars to charge at the same time. Each charger is shared between two bays so that 10 cars can be charging once.
The site is also equipped with two high power chargers for drivers in a hurry who want to charge fast and continue their journey. All chargers are powered by 100% net zero carbon energy. Dobbies Swindon Electric Retail Hub also features CCS and CHAdeMO connectors and accepts contactless payment.
Gridserve has already confirmed plans to expand this concept across more Dobbies stores, currently operating a retail network of over 75 locations.
