InstaVolt has announced a partnership with Starbucks licensee Cobra Coffee, to open a café at its new electric vehicle (EV) charging superhub, located in the city of Wincheter.

EV drivers stopping for a recharge at one of UK’s largest single operator rapid charge superhub will be able to enjoy a shot of coffee before continuing their journey. This partnership is a historic one, as Starbucks and Cobra Coffee will be the first stand-alone partner to provide refreshments at an InstaVolt hub.

“This will be the first on-site refreshment partnership for InstaVolt at one of our superhubs. It will also be the first time Cobra Coffee, a Starbucks UK franchised business partner, has provided a Starbucks café at an EV superhub,” said Delvin Lane, CEO at InstaVolt.

Due to open in spring 2025, the Winchester superhub will have 44 accessible charging bays, including extra-long van bays and drive-through bays for towing vehicles.

“We have a real ambition across all our businesses to act on climate change so alongside access to renewable and fast charging, our site will be built to high environmental standards where customers will not only be able to recharge their cars, but also personally, with their favourite Starbucks beverages and food,” added Mark Smith, Group CEO of Southern Co-op, owners of Cobra Coffee.

The site is a key pillar in InstaVolt’s new phase of growth to install 11,000 ultra rapid chargers in the UK and Ireland.
