The joint venture between Reliance Industries and bp is looking to open 180 new service stations.

Jio-bp is accelerating its retail expansion in India with a major focus on EV charging and biogas. The joint venture between Reliance Industries and bp looks to continue growing in the downstream market.
The company plans to roll out 100,000 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations over the next 10 to 12 years, aligning with India’s push to expand EV charging infrastructure and support India’s net zero ambitions, reports the Financial Express. Jio-bp is also set to launch 1,000 retail outlets for selling compressed biogas produced by Reliance.
Jio-bp has already introduced India’s fastest EV chargers, deploying 480 kW units at Mumbai’s Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC). Currently, 95% of its charging stations include at least one fast charger, the source added. The company has also partnered with Piramal Realty to integrate EV charging solutions into all of Piramal’s residential projects in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
Beyond EV and biogas infrastructure, Jio-bp continues to expand its traditional fuel retail operations. It plans to establish 180 new service stations within the current fiscal year and has broader ambitions to grow its overall network of fuel outlets.
