Argentina’s flagship convenience store recognized for redefining the retail experience.

Lion Place Escobar, operated by FGC Fuels Marketing, has been named the 2025 winner of the NACS Convenience Retailer of the Year Award Latin America, honoring an innovative and profitable convenience store in the region.
The award was presented during the Global Colleagues Reception at the NACS Show, recognizing the store’s forward-thinking model and strong performance. Located in Belén de Escobar, Buenos Aires, the site has set a new benchmark in convenience retail by targeting an affluent, high-value customer base.
Rather than relying on traditional fuel-led revenue, Lion Place has built a destination-focused offer anchored in a food-forward strategy. It features a branded Havanna coffee experience, a full Subway franchise, and its own fast-casual restaurant, Tangrill, to boost in-store sales and elevate transactions.
Founded in 2014 by three former multinational executives, the Lion Place concept has rapidly transformed Argentina’s convenience retail landscape.
This is the second time the company has received the NACS Convenience Retailer of the Year Award Latin America, having previously won in 2023 with its Lion Place Cardales location. The award-winning site has also been visited by MobilityPlaza, which explored the concept as a reference for innovation in convenience retail.
By integrating a multi-service hub that aligns with modern consumer lifestyles, Lion Place Escobar stands out as a replicable model for generating strong non-fuel revenue. Its success highlights how innovative retail concepts can redefine the role of service stations in Latin America.
