OKQ8 Scandinavia is working with Too Good To Go to reduce food waste across its service station network, having sold 138,124 "Surprise Bags" from January to May 2024.

This amount is equal to 138 tons of surplus food sold through the app, or 373,000 kg of CO2 emissions avoided. The service helps companies sell their products at a reduced price, preventing unsold food from being thrown away. The surplus food from OKQ8's stations is packed into 'Surprise Bags' which are then sold via the Too Good To Go app, for around a third of the original price.

"Reducing our food waste is a significant factor in achieving our goal of net zero emissions throughout the value chain by 2035. The fact that our stations together with Too Good To Go have saved food equivalent to 138 tons so far this year is a real win-win in our efforts to reduce our waste," said Karin Eriksson, CEO of OKQ8 Scandinavia.

OKQ8 Scandinavia operates in Sweden and Denmark and is one of the region’s largest fuel companies, operating close to 1,000 service stations and has approximately 5,000 employees.
