The event celebrated its most recent edition on June 18-20 and gathered key figures and leading brands of Mexico's fuel retail sector, establishing itself as a platform for strengthening the market’s development once again.
Onexpo: Convention & Expo 2024 (OCE), the leading event for the fuel retail sector in Mexico, celebrated its latest edition on June 18-20 at the Cancun Center. Over 1,000 and more than 200 suppliers gathered at the trade fair to drive the growth of the Mexican industry.
Over the course of three days, participants of OCE 2024 met to promote the sector’s development via networking between entrepreneurs and regulators. Additionally, a diverse conference program addressed key issues and challenges to provide attendees with the knowledge and tools to enhance their businesses. The panels included topics such as environmental impact, operational efficiency, efficient regulation, and more.
Key figures who led conferences included Walter Julián Ángel, commissioner of the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE in Spanish); Víctor David Palacios Gutiérrez, Deputy Secretary of Hydrocarbons at SENER; Rodrigo Alcázar Silva, representative from COFECE; and Miguel Yasser Vicente Rosales from PEMEX Industrial Transformation.
Each speaker highlighted key developments in the sector, exemplified by recent legislations and a commitment to work side by side in maintaining stability despite the change of administration following recent elections in the country. Furthermore, Petróleos Mexicanos (PEMEX) reaffirmed its commitment to support and strengthen fuel supply, as reflected by the recent opening of almost 200 service stations.
Jorge Mijares Casas, president of Onexpo Nacional, reassured the association's commitment as a key player to maintain stability in the local market. The organization seeks to promote fair competition and pave the way for sustained growth, therefore, it will carry out a comprehensive review of the regulatory framework of the fuel retail industry alongside authorities and regulators, aiming to provide safety for fuel supply and sales operations across the country.
Thus, Onexpo 2024 reaffirmed its role as the premier meeting point for key players in Mexico's fuel retail sector, contributing to the development of a consolidated and favorable market poised for growth.
