The retailing giant plans to have 3,000 convenience stores in the Latin American country.

Leading Latin American convenience player OXXO has reached an important milestone in its Colombian expansion with the opening of its 500th store. The store is located in the north of Bogotá.
With a presence in over 36 cities and municipalities across Colombia, OXXO continues to extend its reach across the country. The company’s ambitious plan includes expanding to 3,000 stores nationwide. This growth strategy is supported by strong collaborations with local suppliers, investment in human talent, and a focus on innovative practices, according to OXXO.
The opening of the 500th store also marks the debut of Andrés Morales as the new General Director of OXXO Colombia. Morales, who has overseen the company’s recent openings, emphasized the significance of this milestone for both the company and his leadership.
"This achievement highlights Colombia's importance for OXXO as one of our most vital and dynamic markets. We remain committed to providing practical, high-quality solutions for our customers and employees, who are integral to this success," said Morales.
In 2024, OXXO plans to continue its growth trajectory with new store openings in key cities such as Medellín, Barranquilla, Tunja, Barrancabermeja, and Ibagué. This continued expansion aims to reinforce OXXO’s presence and enhance its value proposition.
