Parkland has recently opened its 30th electric vehicle (EV) charging site in Canada, its largest open-access location yet.

The company announced the site’s opening in a recent LinkedIn video, highlighting its capability to charge up to 12 vehicles at the same time. Located in Hope, British Columbia, the new facility gathered a lot of interest during its opening week at the end of July.

“It’s not only the largest in the Parkland network, it’s actually the largest open-access charging site anywhere in Canada, so we are breaking new ground as a network here. We opened up a couple of weeks ago and we are already seeing fantastic traffic. We saw over 300 customers come in the first week, which is phenomenal for a new location that is opening,” said Scott Sharabura, VP of EV charging at Parkland.

In addition to the Hope site, the company also announced the inauguration of another charging site in Kananaskis, its second location in Alberta.

Parkland’s charging network is set to continue expanding, with 40 planned sites to be operational by the end of the Summer and a total of 200 active by next year.
