Published on: May 29, 2025
In this episode of Talks on Mobility, Oscar Smith Diamante sits down with Peter Van Nauw and Søren Powell-Holse from Dover Fueling Solutions (DFS). Together, they explore the rise of smart mobility hubs and how digitalization, data, and connectivity are reshaping the service station landscape. The conversation delves into the evolving role of forecourts, the integration of EV charging, automation in food services, and how real-time data is driving operational efficiency and customer experience.

Peter Van Nauw
Peter is the Senior Director and General Manager of payment and systems at Dover Fueling Solutions. As such he is responsible for all product lines for product management, product development, support, and operations. Peter started his career in the payments industry at Banksys, a Belgian payment company, where he held various roles. He later transitioned to Proton World International and Worldline before joining Tokheim in 2010 to run the product management team.
“We have an amazing amount of transactions that run through these mobility hubs. By linking that to some of the back systems that our fuel retailers have, you can mine data to offer a personalized experience. That can be applied under the banner of tailoring the customer journey so it doesn't feel intrusive. What do people buy? When do they buy it?”
Søren Powell-Holse
Soren is the Senior Director of Sales for Europe, Australia & New Zealand and Global Key Accounts. As such he is leading the regional sales team for all Tokheim, Wayne and Dover Fueling Solutions (DFS) product lines including dispensers, payment & systems, automatic tank gauges as well as fuel optimization solutions & services. Soren has extensive experience in the fuel retailing industry, having started his career in fuel retailing working for Texaco in a variety of roles in Denmark and the U.S., before transitioning to sales & marketing of fuelling equipment & solutions.
"Before, you came to locations to fill up your car. More and more you come there because it's still good real estate and it fulfills a lot more needs. We have evolved with the customer. We still see that fuel dispensers are needed but it's no secret that the main focus of many is now in the shop and food. We are very focused on the automation of payment, systems and services to help retailers in this journey."
