Repsol adds Diesel Nexa to its offer in the Canary Islands
Last update: Aug 11, 2025
The company aims to supply 65% of its Canary Islands network with its most advanced renewable diesel by September.

Repsol is advancing its commitment to decarbonising transport by extending the availability of its 100% renewable Diesel Nexa to the islands of Gran Canaria and Tenerife, following its initial launch in Fuerteventura in August 2024.
The multi-energy company has begun deploying the fuel at service stations in both regions, targeting 46 sites by the end of September. This will mean that 65% of Repsol’s network in the archipelago will offer Diesel Nexa 100% renewable.
Across Spain, the company has surpassed 1,200 service stations offering the product and aims to reach 1,500 in Spain and Portugal by year-end.
“The arrival of 100% renewable Diesel Nexa in Gran Canaria and Tenerife is a very important step because it directly contributes to reducing net CO₂ emissions in transport and expands the range of sustainable mobility technologies,” said Estibaliz Pombo, Head of Energy Products at Repsol. “This fuel is not only a more sustainable alternative, but it is also our most advanced diesel, made from 100% renewable sources.”
So far in 2025, the company has supplied over 100 million litres of Diesel Nexa 100% renewable, underscoring growing customer demand.
Repsol already operates the first large-scale renewable fuel plant in the Iberian Peninsula in Cartagena and plans to open a second in Puertollano in 2026.
