Terpel aims to add 14 new EV charging points in Colombia by 2026

Published on: Dec 30, 2025

Expansion focuses on Bogotá, Medellín, Bucaramanga, and the Caribbean region.

Terpel announced plans to install 14 new fast-charging stations for EVs in 2026, reinforcing its commitment to e-mobility. The company reported that in 2025 it added 20 points, and the upcoming locations will include Bogotá, Medellín, Bucaramanga, Cartagena, and the Coffee Region (Armenia, Pereira, and Manizales).

The company highlighted strong market trends: electric vehicle sales doubled in 2025 compared to 2024, continuing a pattern of rapid growth. “In Bogotá, 10% of new vehicles entering the market are fully electric. That one in ten cars is electric is an interesting signal,” said Juan Daniel Rueda, Terpel’s Manager of New Energies and Mobility, in an interview with Valora Analitik.

Currently, Terpel operates more than 50 charging points across 43 service stations in Colombia, along with partnerships in parking areas, shopping centers, and Compensar facilities in Bogotá. The network enables EV drivers to travel from Bogotá to the Coffee Region, the Atlantic Coast, and Antioquia.

“This is a business in expansion that we see as a medium- and long-term opportunity. We’ve observed a significant increase in charger usage,” Rueda added.

While EVs still represent less than 1% of Colombia’s vehicle fleet, demand for charging services grew 250% in the past year. Installation costs for each point range from $100,000 to $130,000, though they can vary by project.
