Terpel to add five new EV charging stations in Colombia by year-end

Network growth follows rising electric vehicle adoption with new locations across Bogotá, Medellín, and Cali.

In response to Colombia’s accelerating electric vehicle (EV) adoption, Terpel will install five new fast-charging stations across Bogotá, Medellín, and Cali before the end of 2025.
The announcement, made by Juan Rueda, Terpel’s Head of New Business, Energy, and Electromobility, in an interview with El Tiempo, underscores the company’s leadership in establishing EV infrastructure in the country. Its current charging network encompasses 28 fast-charging points for private vehicles and 11 hubs for heavy-duty EVs, the country’s largest fast-charging network.
The company has been expanding its reach since 2019, strategically placing chargers every 150 km along key national highways and, more recently, moving into urban areas to match the growth of the EV market.
According to data from the local sustainable mobility association, Andemos, EV sales in Colombia have surged from 3,708 units in 2023 to over 9,100 in 2024, with 3,447 units registered in the first three months of 2025 alone.
Cities like Bogotá, Medellín, and Cali are leading the charge, fueling demand for more accessible and reliable public charging options.
Terpel’s new installations will include faster chargers ready to serve next-generation EVs. The company plans to gradually increase charger power levels, to improve flow and support broader adoption.
