TotalEnergies opened two new public hydrogen refueling stations (HRS) in the Netherlands in the Rotterdam region and in Utrecht.

These new locations bring the company one step closer to the realization of its Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) corridor. The first route runs from Rotterdam towards Germany, allowing passenger and commercial vehicles to fill up with hydrogen at the new stations, as well as at TotalEnergies' already existing H2 station in Arnhem.

The second route runs from Rotterdam to Breda in the direction of Belgium. In addition, the company has recently opened another H2 station in Bettembourg, Luxembourg.

In Capelle aan den IJssel, the new fueling location for H2 at 350 bar and 700 bar pressure is located at the TotalEnergies Alexandrium multi-energy fueling station. In addition to H2 and conventional fuels, four 175 kW High Power Charging (HPC) points are also available for electric vehicles (EVs).

The new filling station for H2 at 350 bar and 700 bar in Utrecht is located right next to The Wall shopping. TotalEnergies also plans to install four HPC charging points for EVs at this location.

"These stations are a central link in the network of more than 100 hydrogen stations for heavy vehicles that we plan to build together with Air Liquide on key European intersecting corridors and which will contribute to decarbonizing freight transport in Europe," said Antoine Tournand, Hydrogen Director at TotalEnergies Marketing & Services.

The new hydrogen refueling stations were made possible by financial support from the European Union and the Dutch government. Both stations are part of the European H2Benelux project, coordinated by WaterstofNet and co-financed by the European Commission as part of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) program.
