True North Energy is taking over 15 convenience stores in Wisconsin in a deal with Wagner Shell Company, known as well as Wagner Oil.

According to a Wednesday announcement, all sites are based around Green Bay and will continue operating as Shell-branded locations. However, its c-store operations will be rebranded with the Ohio-based retailer’s visual identity.

This expansion was announced three years after True North reached Brecksville, where it now operates more than 30 stores.

“True North will continue to provide area customers with quality products, exceptional service and competitive fuel prices, as we realize customers have a choice where they purchase their fuel and convenience items,” said Mark Lyden, President and CEO of True North, according to a report by C-Store Dive.

Wagner is set to keep operating its wholesale fuel and transportation businesses and 40 dealer locations in Wisconsin. The company was founded back in the 1950s by the Wagner family and converted to a Shell Oil firm in 1984.

True North Energy was born in 1999 and is the result of a partnership between the Lyden Family and Shell Oil US. The retailer operates 186 locations across Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michigan, and supplies fuel to 300 Shell, bp, Amoco, Marathon and Arco branded dealers.
