The Maxol Group has received clearance from Ireland’s Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) to acquire three service stations in Dublin, increasing its total network to 248 sites nationwide. This expansion is part of the company’s ambitious five-year, €175 million investment strategy, aimed at strengthening its footprint and enhancing customer experience across the island.

The newly acquired forecourts (Spawell Auto Stop in Templeogue, Coolquay Service Station in The Ward, and Crosslands Service Station in Clondalkin) were previously supplied by Maxol under a wholesale fuel agreement and owned by operators Johnny and Susan Brady. Each location is set to undergo a retrofit valued at over €1 million, including the addition of Maxol Deli offerings and ROSA Coffee stations.

“These are excellent sites that have been operated to the highest of standards, and in the coming months we will be investing further by introducing our latest retail and forecourt model to each location. Our goal is to have all three sites fully transferred and operating under the Maxol model by the end of the summer,” said Brian Donaldson, CEO of The Maxol Group.

Donaldson noted that non-fuel services now account for more than 40% of Maxol’s gross profit, emphasizing the role of foodservice, convenience retail, car wash facilities, and emerging mobility solutions as vital drivers of business growth. Last year alone, Maxol acquired eight additional forecourts and completed 14 site redevelopments.
